Updating to newer version of WordPress

I know virtually nothing about css or HTML and I just want to upload the newest version of WordPress.com. I need step by step instructions that assumes that I know nothing. I can’t find them.

There are no “versions” of WordPress.com!
This platform is constantly being updated, experimented upon, and tweaked so the software is newer than new!
WordPress.ORG software has versions, but here on wp.com the updates are done automatically.
