Updating VAT details

  Hi, I need to update my VAT details in the system – how do I do that?

  Hey, Carol! 🙂

  You can do that from the Purchases section on. Just follow the steps below:

  #1. Click on your profile in the top right corner of your dashboard (screenshot).
  #2. On the left sidebar, select Purchases.
  #3. Click the Billing History tab.
  #4. Click the Add VAT details tab from below.

  It’s greyed out and says:
  ” To change your VAT number, please contact support.with a link to ‘contact us'” – that links to this forum

  Hi!

  Thanks for the quick reply.

  It’s good to know that you can only add a VAT number if you are registered in Europe or the UK. Also, if you need to update an already saved VAT number, you need to contact support here, and provide company information (name, business address, VAT number).

  Hi @carolfeller I don’t see any purchases under your account at this time. Are you referring to purchases made on another account?

  Also please note that we are not able to provide invoices prior to purchase, but after you make your purchase if you plan to deduct the expense there is a way to get your VAT details added to the receipt.

  While Akismet uses WordPress.com user accounts for account setup, they have their own billing system so you’ll need to contact them directly.

  To get a VAT receipt for your Akismet purchase, reach out to Support here and choose “I have a billing question”:

  Contact Us

  You’ll need to provide them with your VAT number and they can generate a proper receipt for your records.

  NOTE: Your VAT number will be verified by VIES and your receipt will use the business address and information that is stored in the VIES database.
