Updating WordPress account email address
-
Hi, trying to replace my old email address with my new email address on my WordPress account. I do the necessary things in WordPress ‘account settings’. Then I receive an email from WordPress in my new email account inbox asking me to click ‘Confirm new email address’. I click it. But seemingly to no effect. Because when I then try and log in with my new email address WordPress tells me that there is not an account associated with my new email address. And I can still only log into WordPress with my old email address.
Any help would be much appreciated! Thank you
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi @tinamayog, sorry for the inconvenience. I totally understand the frustration you’re having at the moment. I will help you fix the issue.
Let’s clarify things first:
- After clicking on the confirmation link sent to you, what happens? Is there any error displayed?
Please share a screenshot of what you see after clicking on that link.
Cheers,
Jim

Hi Jim, thank you for your reply. Here is a screenshot of where I am taken to after clicking the link and what happens when I try and proceed with my new email address:

And what happens if you login with the username tinamayog? What email address do you see in the account settings once logged in?

Hi @tinamayog, thank you for responding. It seems the email was indeed not registered.
As @staartmees has suggested, try logging in with your username instead and check whether the email actually changed or its still the old one.

I have just tried logging in with my username tinamayog but I still see the same issue as per this screenshot:

Hi @tinamayog thank you for sharing the screenshot. Now try clicking “Resend email” then in the email you receive, instead of clicking the link sent directly from the email, copy it and open it in a new incognito tab.
