updgrading to business plan

Hi — We want to upgrade to a Business Plan. Our WordPress blog has been around since 2010. I would love to schedule a call/orientation with a Happiness Expert to help us make a smooth transition. Is there a quick checklist of transitioning a free WordPress site to the business plan? At what point in the process do we need to choose the domain? Overall, just need to check in with someone before we purchase the plan.

Hi there,
Go to My Site ->Plans, select the Business Plan, and complete checkout. That is really all there is to it. All this will do is activate the additional features of the plan on your site, but except for ads on your site disappearing, absolutely nothing on your site itself will change.
If you want to add a custom domain you can do that after adding the plan by going to My Site ->Domains ->Add, and again just following the steps:

Once you have the Business Plan you’ll be able to schedule a live screen-share session with a Happiness Engineer to answer any questions you might have, and you’ll have 24/7 access to regular live chat support.
But unless you want to do something advanced like installing a third party theme or a plugin, everything will still work pretty much as it’s working right now on the free plan. You’ll just have access to some new tools in the Customizer and the Traffic tab in Settings that you didn’t have before, along with increased storage, a custom domain, free access to Premium themes, etc.
