  I want to upgrade my plan. I am on wordpress.com right now. I want to get .com and I have finally been able to get to paypal for payment but i am too illiterate when it comes to setting a domain and all. Would it be good idea for me to upgrade at this stage? If yes then how should I proceed? Please help.

  Every paid WordPress.COM plan comes with a free custom domain credit which you can use to register a .com domain.

  Once you upgrade you can follow the steps in this official support guide: https://en.support.wordpress.com/register-domain/, to register a domain and have this new domain automatically connected to your WordPress.COM site.
