I would like to upgrade from free to business, but the currency needs to first be changed from GBP to USD.

@grit719, please start a new thread of your own (https://en.forums.wordpress.com/?new=1) and add modlook tag to it for the attention of the support staff. They’ll change the currency in your account.

When you add a custom domain we automatically redirect all traffic to your free address, yes, so all old links to your site you might have shared will still work. And should you cancel the domain at some point, your site will just go back to using the free address.
