  if i am only using 0.1 per cent of 28 Gb why would i want to buy another 25Gb?

  Space Upgrades give you extra space to upload additional files past your blog’s free 3 GB of space and unlock the ability to upload audio files.

  You’re only using 116.3 MB of space, but you do have 2 audio files.

  So, you’ll still need a Space Upgrade for the audio files, but you can safely purchase a much smaller 10 GB Space Upgrade when your current 25 GB Space Upgrade expires.

  but the two audio files together take up less than 10 Mb of space, so I still can’t see why I need 25Gb more than my 3 Gb allowance.

  Space Upgrades are required to upload audio files on WordPress.com, as detailed at http://en.support.wordpress.com/audio/

  The extra money essentially pays for the extra bandwidth (beyond what is covered by the ads) used by those playing the audio files, plus it gives you nice chunk of extra space.
