  Is there a way to pay by month instead of one lump sum? I looked into adding the upgrade (premium) and could not find a way to change it to monthly payments.

  Hi there,

  There is no monthly payment here.
  WordPress.com plans are being billed yearly and unless you opt-out they will automatically renew. 30 days after purchasing a plan you have the option to request a refund.
