Upgrade

    I want to work without upgrading, that is using the blog while it’s free, but i can’t get to use any of the free plug-ins. It is requiring me to do an upgrade that i don’t want to do. Canc you please remove the mandatory upgrade from my end for me?

    The use of plugins is not available on the Free WordPress.com plan. The use of plugins is a feature of the WordPress.com Business plan.

    Saying that, we do have a ton of features built in so I would love the opportunity to see if we have something that you are looking to set up available without a plugin. Can you let me know what plugins you were looking into using?

    To clarify, there is a difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org. While plugins show free, a WordPress.com Business plan is still needed to use plugins.

    WordPress.com is a hosted version of WordPress where we take care of your website’s security, updates and maintenance while you can focus on your content. At WordPress.com, the installation of plugins and themes is allowed only with a Business and eCommerce plan subscription. However, we have lots of built-in plugins and a variety of themes to choose from on all plans.

    On the other hand, WordPress.org websites are self-hosted and require that you purchase your space on the web with a hosting company and you are the one who needs to take care of the website’s security, updates and maintenance. WordPress.org allows you to install custom plugins and themes.
