  Do I need to upgrade to upload plugins? I can’t find a way to upload things in my version.

  You can’t use plugins in WordPress.com, it is only possible in Self hosted WordPress.org based blogs.

  The blog linked to your username is a free hosted WordPress.com blog and if that’s the blog you are referring to then abhijatyatewari has provided you the correct answer. There is no FTP access to free hosted WordPress.COM blogs and we cannot install individual plugins or third party themes into them. Those found on the internet are for WordPress.ORG installs which run on different software.

  If you are referring to a free software install from WordPress.ORG for self hosting you must post to http://wordpress.org/support/ for assistance.

  What is it that you wanted the plugin for please? We have many widgets that can be used on free hosted WordPress.com blogs and there are also workarounds we can share for some things.
