  How do I upgrade from a free website?
  I have the free site right now and would like to know the options for owning my own website, how do I go about doing it and how much will it cost?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  I own my domain through godaddy right now for awhiteknightscraphauling.com through 2/16/2015.

  Hi there,

  After looking into your account, I found that you added the domain mapping upgrade for: awhiteknightscraphauling.com, but it looks like you have not yet changed your nameservers to ours yet:

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-helper/?host=awhiteknightscraphauling.com

  Please go to your domain registrar’s site and log into the control panel. You will need to update the name servers as below:

  NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
  NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
  NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

  Thank you for the information for updating the name server, when I am ready to go live with this new website, I will do that (I have another free website right now and will either be deleting that one or keeping it as a second website and this one will be the main site). What I am wanting to know is how do I go about “owning” the website and not having it be a free one. I also want to have more space for videos and photos. When I update and I already have the domain-mapping will I be paying for it again?

  Hi there,

  I’m not quite sure what you mean by “owning” the site. Even if it is the free ‘.wordpress.com” URL, you would own the content in the same way you would own the content if you added your custom domain name. If you’re worried about content theft, you can include a very clear copyright notice as seen here. However, please note that while we do try our best, there is no way to fully guarantee the complete protection of your work considering the nature of the internet.

  Also, if you would like more space for videos and photos you can do that by going to Store in your Dashboard. You can read more about the space upgrades here.

  As for your domain mapping upgrade, its currently attached to your account, so whenever you update the nameservers, it should be working shortly thereafter. It is set to expire on October 30th, 2014, so you won’t have to update it until then.
