  Did I really need to upgrade my worpress account?

  Can you explain a bit more what you mean by upgrading your WordPress account?

  Do you mean upgrades to your blog? For many options, such as custom domains, custom colors, CSS, and other features, you do need to upgrade. However, you are always welcome to have a free blog at WordPress.com!

  I want to creat a website using wordpress. I mapped my godaddy domain here, and subscribed to your premium $99 yearly plan. Was this upgrade necessary in order for me to create a website with you?

  Hi there,

  The only upgrade you absolutely need is the domain mapping upgrade, since you already own your domain and would like to use it with your WordPress blog.

  However, depending on your goals for your website, you may find that you do need additional features offered in the WordPress Premium package. Custom colors, CSS, no ads, extra storage, etc. are all upgraded features on WordPress.com. The package is by far the best value we offer, and many users find it allows them to create their customized site easily.
