I added a domain to my WordPress site in my free plan a couple of years ago,. I want to convert it to a public domain and set up a couple of email accounts in the domain, but I can’t find any instructions on how to proceed. I can’t purchase the domain name since it.is ‘already mapped to a WordPress.com’ site.

    WP.com: Yes
    Jetpack: No
    Correct account: Yes

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to moderators and staff)

    Hello!

Can you let us know which domain are you trying to connect to your site?

Furthermore, kindly note that to connect a domain to your WordPress.com site, it must be on any paid plan before proceeding.

You can learn more about it here:

If you already own a domain name with another provider, you can use that domain with your WordPress.com site. Once you complete the steps below, instead of your site address being something like yourgroovysite.wordpress.com, your site’s address will be something like yourgroovydomain.com. Follow the steps in this guide to keep your domain registered with your current provider and use it to show

Additionally, if you don’t need any specific features other than to just use the domain for your site as a primary site address and use our email offer, I suggest upgrading your site to a Personal plan (the most affordable one), and subscribing to a Professional Email service.
