Upgrade domain

  i already have a free plan which i’d like to upgrade and get my own domain, but what happens to the old URL once upgraded? if someone looks for my website with the ‘wordpress.com’ old domain will be automatically redirected to the new one? thanks

  Adding a domain will change the URL (the links) to all your posts and pages. WordPress will automatically redirect any visitors to your free WordPress.com domain to your new domain. You can learn more about it from the Domains Support page – https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/
