I tried to upgrade my site from the free version to the premium version today – I paid using PayPal and got a successful payment message. But in my account it’s still showing as the free version. Andy ideas?

Hi there,
What exactly do your mean by “not showing”?
What is not showing?
Where is it not showing, please? Is this about the domain URL?
Have you done the set-up after purchasing the premium upgrade? All wordpress.com hosted blogs are on wordpress.com subdomains like this: *http://NAME_OF_BLOG.wordpress.com
If you wish to you can purchase your own custom domain and map to it for $18 per year, or map to an existing domain URL that you already own for $13 per year from the underlying .wordpress.com subdomain URL.
Read:
Domains: Important Notes Before Upgrading

In order to map to a domain URL one must have an underlying .wordpress.com sub-domain blog to map from, and the domain name you desire must be available for purchase, or you must already own the domain URL.All that changes when you are domain mapping is the URL and nothing else. http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/ The content stays exactly where it is. What domain mapping does its create a seamless transfer between the underlying .wordpress.com blog URLs to the new domain URLs no matter where they are on the internet. Visitors who click the underlying .wordpress.com blog URLs will be seamlessly redirected to the exact same content under the new domain URLs.

I do understand that you say you purchased a Premium bundle of upgrades. You still have to take the required steps to set up domain mapping.
Please see > Dashboard> Store > My Upgrades

Thanks for the reply. When I click on “Plan” in the left hand panel, the “Free” option has a green tick and it says beneath it “Your current plan”. The Premium and Business options both have an “Upgrade now” button.
In my billing history, it says I have no upgrades.
Maybe I just need to wait and see if the funds actually leave my PayPal account.

Your only options for payment are found here http://en.support.wordpress.com/payment/
Unfortunately, there are some countries that PayPal will not accept payments from. If you have a credit or debit card registered to an address in one of those countries, you will be unable to use it to pay. -

Thanks for your help. I’m in the UK and use my PayPal account regularly so I wouldn’t think that would be the problem, especially as I had a “payment successful” screen.
I’ll wait for a moderator response :)

Okay then and please be patient while waiting as there is a backlog of threads tagged for Staff.
