  Unable to pay with my South African debit card – any alternative payment options?

  According to the WordPress.com support document, there aren’t any alternative payment options for South Africa.

  Payment Methods on WordPress.com

  Please make sure your debit card has enabled international transactions. You may call your bank to verify or activate this.

  In addition to the information that staff-zara provided I wanted to point out that if PayPal is accepted in your location it can be used instead of a debit or credit card directly:

  Hi there,

  Please contact your bank and make sure international transactions are allowed on your card. We accept all major debit cards, and being South African myself I’ve never had problems with payments on WordPress.com directly or via PayPal.

  But your payments appear to be getting declined on your bank’s end, most likely as a pro-active fraud prevention measure they have in place, so it’s best to get in touch with them directly about this. Good luck ;)
