Upgrade Questions

I have been blogging for over a year and would like to upgrade my site from a .wordpress.com to a .com but I am worried that if I do that then everyone who follows my blog now will not be able to find my .com blog or that I will lose all my blogs from my current site if I upgrade.
Any help would be great. Thanks-Dangerously Normal Spoonie

Think of adding a domain like putting a dust jacket on a book. The book looks completely different when you do that, but the book itself is still exactly the same.
A domain works the same. Your site itself won’t change in any way, and your followers might not even notice that anything has changed unless they look at the address in their browsers. That is the only thing that will change. All the old links to the free address of your site will still work, and all your followers will still see your posts in the Reader or in their emails, depending on how they followed your site.
