Upgrade to Premium

    Hi there,

    I used to have a business plan that had plugins, and I took a break from it. Now I am considering upgrading to Premium Plan. However, I am unable to choose it. I assume because there are plug ins installed.

    For some reason I can’t find the plug ins page for me to delete all the plug ins.

    If I delete all the plugins will I still have the same subscribers? I know that there is subscriber only content in Premium as well.

    Hi there,

    Before you can buy Premium, we’ll need to properly downgrade your site to the free plan first: When you installed plugins on Business, that caused some changes behind the scenes to how your site works, so those changes will need to be reversed first.

    This will remove all plugins and installed third party themes from your site. There’s also a small risk that content you added since upgrading to Business might be lost, but in most cases we’re able to restore that should that happen. By content I’m referring to regular posts and pages, though. Products you added via WooCommerce will be lost, though, as the product content type relies on that plugin to exist on the site.

    Please confirm that you understand this if you want us to proceed with that process.

    It depends on what you mean by subscribers…I don’t see any membership or subscription plugins on your site.

    If you mean people who subscribe to updates on your blog posts, that’s powered by WordPress.com through the Jetpack plugin, so all those subscribers will still be on your site after the downgrade process.

    On our Premium (and Personal) plan you can sell paid subscriptions using the Payments block, and then you’ll use the Premium Content block to add subscriber-only content to your posts and pages.

    Hi kokkieh!

    Yep I understand that and I am okay with the products getting deleted!

    And Yes the only subscribers I have are the ones who subcribed for updates!

    That is also great to know regarding the payment blocks and subscription content! I think this will be a better option for me.

    Hi there,

    Sorry, it looks like we somehow missed your reply yesterday.

    I’ve now downgraded your site, so you should be able to upgrade to the Premium or Personal plan.

    It looks like all your content (posts/pages/media) made it through the process, but let us know if anything is missing.
