Upgrade to Premium/Customizing from Child Theme

I have been using the free version of Virtue on my wordpress site and after making customizations I created a child theme. I upgrade to the premium version of the Virtue Theme today however I have not activated it as I am afraid I will lose my customizations. How do I go about activating without losing all my work. Also, do I need to create a second child theme for the Virtue Premium theme or will my old one still work?

We provide support only for WordPress.COM hosted blogs here and not for any others. You cannot purchase an upgrade here for any site that’s not hosted by WordPress.COM. You are posting to the wrong support forum. We cannot help you here.
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there.

The only themes we can use on WordPress.COM hosted blogs are licensed and adapted to run on our multiuser software the themes are found here http://wordpress.com/themes/ and in your dashboard at > Appearance > Themes
There is no FTP access to free hosted WordPress.com blogs for security reasons and we cannot:
upload any third party themes,
create child themes,
create our own themes,
edit templates,
create own own layouts,
or use stylesheets from other themes.Relevant support docs:

Thank you for responding. I have my answer. The site above is not the one that I was using the wordpress theme on. I paid for the upgrade and was using a WordPress hosted by GoDaddy so everything was legit. The site above is going to be deleted.
