Upgrade using Paypall account

  I’m trying to upgrade to Premium, paying directly with my Paypall account. However when I get transferred, it still: ‘Please add a credit card to complete your purchase.’, although my balance has enough money on it.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there,

  Because all upgrades on WordPress.com are subscription-based, PayPal won’t let the transaction go through unless there’s also a card linked to your account, as guarantee that you’ll be able to pay for renewal next year.

  However, if you don’t want auto-renew to be active, you can let us know once you’ve upgraded and we can deactivate it for you, or you can deactivate it yourself from Purchases once your upgrade is past the refund period.

  Thank you for the clarification! Since I was able to get the upgrade, I would indeed like to deactivate the auto-renew.

  I have disabled auto-renew as you requested. Please remember to renew your upgrade before it expires next year so you don’t lose your domain.
