Upgrade Workspace

    I have Workspace Business Starter and need to upgrade. I’ve gone through the forums for instructions but there is no option under Upgrades -> Emails to change the Workspace plan. Only option is to renew now but I’m on auto-renew. I’d rather not cancel it and go direct to Google as I’m afraid the transfer will potentially cause e-mai issues which I cannot afford to happen.

    How do I upgrade Google Workspace?????

    We currently only offer Google Workspace Business Starter.

    If you wish to upgrade your Google Workspace account, you will need to cancel your Google Workspace subscription with us, which will transfer your Google Workspace account to Google, where you can request the upgrade.

    Please do note that Google does not respects the remaining period of your billing plan you purchased with us. That means you basically lose some unused months you’ve already paid for (your expiration date on your subscription with us is 2023-12-31).

    Thank you for confirming that. If I cancel and transfer my Workspace subscription to Google will there be any changes required on the WordPress side to ensure my email is delivered without interruption? I cannot afford to have this cause any type of downtime for email.

  • Hi there,

    When an account is sent back to Google (i.e. canceled on our end) nothing about the account settings change. With this in mind email should continue to work without issue since we already have all the correct settings in your domain DNS. Those settings do not change when the account is sent back to Google.

    I also assume that there is no change in your domain settings requirements when moving from Starter to Standard/Plus but I’m less sure of this since that is handled by Google and not us directly. I think it’s worth asking Google directly if your “domain DNS settings need to be updated” or if the ones you have now will continue to work.

    I’m sure they will say that the settings will stay the same and not need to be updated, but if they recommend any changes let us know and we can help get them added so there is no loss of service.
