Upgraded to Premium and trying to get a domain name. WP wants to charge me another $99.

When I purchased the Premium upgrade, I was under the impression that I could register for a domain name as part of the package. I’m trying to do it, but WP is wanting to charge another $99.00. Why? I have a receipt. Thank you.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there!

I do see the domain credit on your account. Can you try registering your domain here:

    https://wordpress.com/domains

Make sure you select nancywozniak.wordpress.com in the second step.

Let me know if that still doesn’t work.

Hi. Thanks for helping, but I’ve go another problem. I was able to pick liftinglearning.com as my domain. I went to pay for it with Paypal and it wouldn’t take it. Said domain was unavailable. Then I changed it to lifting the learning.com and it allowed me to pay. (I got Google Docs and privacy). Now, Paypal shows double domain and double charges. I was charged twice. I want liftinglearning.com. Could you help me, again? You’re so patient. N

    Hi Nancy!

What happened was that when you went to pay for liftinglearning.com, your Premium plan credit paid for the domain. Paypal wasn’t necessary to pay for it. So when you were going through Paypal, it was already being registered.

So you were billed the $76 for liftingthelearning.com (w/ Privacy and Google apps) because this was a second domain on your account, not included in the Premium plan.

Could you please confirm that you would like me to cancel (and refund) the domain liftingthelearning.com and its Google apps upgrade? I’ll be happy to do that today.

    -Alex G.

Thank you, Alex. Yes, I’d like to cancel lifting the learning.com with Privacy and Google apps. I appreciate your patience. I’m conducting a blogfolio and teaching portfolio workshop at a State University of New York conference. I wasn’t sure whether to introduce them to Google Sites or WordPress. You just helped me make up my mind. This is incredible service. I’ll conduct these workshops with WordPress. I’m very impressed. Again, thank you so much. Nancy

    Hi Nancy!

I removed liftingthelearning.com, along with its privacy and Google Apps upgrades ,and have issued a full refund. It may take a week for it to arrive in your bank account but you can confirm the refund in your Billing History here:

    https://wordpress.com/me/billing

If you also want to add Google Apps to your remaining domain, liftinglearning.com, we have steps to do that here:

I wasn’t sure whether to introduce them to Google Sites or WordPress. You just helped me make up my mind. This is incredible service. I’ll conduct these workshops with WordPress. I’m very impressed.

Aww, shucks! Thank you! We’re always happy to help and I’m proud to be part the decision. :)

    Alex,

You sold me on recommending WordPress to faculty and students for professional portfolios and course blogfolios. The one thing faculty demand from a technology and service is support. You responded to my request for help, immediately. I received a refund within a day of my contacting you. I’m really happy with WordPress. Thank you so much. Nancy
