upgraded to premium, still can't install new themes

  • Unknown's avatar

I just upgraded to premium so I would be able to add new themes. I signed up for web hosting through Blue Host and set up an SQL database and connected it through FileZilla, but still nothing. On the instructional guides and videos they say go to Appearance-Themes- then select Add New. I do not have an Add New option. I’m VERY new at this and I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

It sounds like you’re trying to do a couple of different things. First, let me explain that there is a difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org. We explain it a bit in this help article:

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

So with that in mind, you either don’t need an account with us or you don’t need one with Blue Host. You can go through the list of pros and cons and decide which one is right for you.

Let me know what you decide and I’ll be happy to help you out with whichever you go with as much as I am able, but please note that we aren’t really able to provide support with sites that are self-hosted.

Thank you! I was totally confused. I was able to cancel my upgrade to premium and redirect the servers to blue host. I think I’m on the right track now and I very much appreciate your guidance!

Not a problem at all! Let me know if you run in to any issues that has to do with us over at WordPress.com and I’ll be happy to help out!

You also may want to get to know this site:

    http://wordpress.org/support/

It’s incredibly helpful for those rare times when you really run up against a wall and can’t figure something out inside of your self-hosted WordPress.org installation.

    Have a great one!
