  I’m unclear on the differences between Premium and Business upgrades. If I upgrade to Premium and later want to upgrade to Business, will I still pay the full $299 even though I will have paid $99 for Premium?
  Also, does Premium allow me to add advertisers or is this only with a Business site?

  WordPressdotcom’s policy on advertising doesn’t change whether you have a free or upgraded site. You can read more about those policies in these Support docs:

  As far as prorating an upgrade, I do believe there is some adjustment made, but I’ve tagged this for Staff clarification.

  This really depends on how long you have had WordPress.com Premium. For example, if you have had WordPress.com Premium for 9 months and then want to upgrade to Business, you aren’t going to get $99 credit for the upgrade. But often we can work with you to upgrade.
