upgrading a free word press web page

  I took a word press class this spring. I created a web page and domain name and hosting with word press for free. I have a few questions concerning my web page that you may be able to answer.
  I want to keep my web page that I made in class but I want to upgrade in to a business web page. I want word press to host it and keep my domain name. How do I do this?

  I want to keep my web page that I made in class but I want to upgrade in to a business web page.

  Do you mean you want to upgrade your plan to the Business plan? If so, you can upgrade through https://wordpress.com/plans/ anytime, and upgrading never affects your site contents and domain.

  When you upgrade. Will you need a “hosting” site as well?
