Upgrading account etc

So I’m looking to start freelance writing (on a different blog) but I can’t afford the £84 to start up a new blog with my own URL until around April. I was wondering, if I created a free account now and started posting, then would I be able to like, transfer all of my stuff onto the paid one in April? I’m sorry if this doesn’t make sense or if it’s obvious. If I can’t then I’m fine with just waiting, I just wanted to know in case I begin to get a following and then my work will just be gone or in a completely different place etc.

That makes perfect sense and I’m sorry we didn’t make it clear enough. You can post on a site, and then upgrade that site to a paid plan whenever you’re ready. You won’t even have to copy content over. In fact, when you get your own address, people will be automatically redirected from the free address to the custom one.
