Upgrading and installation question.

This is kinda a generic question, but i don’t really know how i’d phrase it for a Google search so i decided to ask here instead.

I currently have a free WordPress.com blog and planning to upgrade to a Personal plan. I admittedly don’t know much about upgrades, but i read somewhere that I have to install a WordPress software. Now here are my questions:

    (1) Once i install this software in my computer, that’s where i’m going to change theme or write a post, right? Kinda like my current blog dashboard, i guess?

    (2) Aside from my personal computer, I also use my work PC to write posts. Is it still possible for me to do that even if my work PC has no WordPress software installed?

Thanks in advance to anyone who’d reply! :)

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Howdy!

There’s no need to download or install anything when using WordPress.com. We’ve taken care of all of that for you already.

After upgrading your plan you will continue to access your site in the same manner and use the same tools. This isn’t going to change. The WordPress.com Plans offer different features. Here is a side by side comparison.

Let me know if you have any questions about the plans or their features.

There are 2 versions of WordPress. What happens here at WordPress.com is different than the self hosted WordPress world. This guide explains those differences.

Ohhh alright, so the WordPress software is for the self-hosted WordPress world? Great, I don’t need to do anything new once I upgrade to Personal. :D

Additional Q, are the themes that come with Personal plan the same free themes in WordPress.com?

  • You’ll be able to choose from any theme listed in our showcase. We also have Premium Themes available, those are a 1 time purchase fee, not included with WordPress.com Personal or Premium Plans.
