If I upgrade to a WordPress plan, will people who type in my former url (example.wordpress.com) in their browser be automatically directed to my new url (example.com)?

Hello there, for all paid plans on WordPress.com, they come with a free domain credit that allows you to register a new domain.
So let’s say you register example.com when you upgrade to a paid plan, example.wordpress.com will be hidden and your site will have the new URL, which is example.com.

Hi Regina. Thank you for the answer. Just to confirm: when example.wordpress.com is “hidden”, someone who tries to get there by typing in that url in their browser with wind up at example.com, right?
