Upgrading Business Plans

  Hello, I am in the beginning process of starting a website. I wanted to know if I purchase the Business plan for now and pay the full $300, could 4 months from now (less than a year) upgrade to the eCommerce plan for a prorated price? OR would I have to come out of pocket the full price of the eCommerce plan?

  Hi there,

  If you upgrade from one plan to a more expensive one, you receive an automatic discount based on the unused time remaining on the original plan.

  That said, the eCommerce plan comes with the WooCommerce plugin and the Storefront theme pre-installed and activated, along with a selection of WooCommerce add-ons, so it might have unforeseen side-effects to upgrade an existing Business Plan site to that plan, especially if you already use plugins and/or a custom theme on the site.

  So if you decide to do this, I’d recommend you just reach out to live chat support at the time so they can check your site, and help you with any issues that might arise from the change.

  Keep in mind that apart from the pre-installed plugins, the eCommerce plan works exactly the same as the Business Plan. The initial value of eCommerce lies in that some amount of setup is done automatically for you (so you’d lose out on this benefit by upgrading an existing site already using WooCommerce), with the handful of included premium WooCommerce add-ons providing the ongoing value.
