Upgrading Domain and Email
-
Hello! This is a two part question. I designed my website with WordPress back in 2010, and since then my business has expanded and it’s time to upgrade. I believe I understand how to purchase my own domain (instead of the free version), which is the annual fee of $18. If I also purchase the WordPress subscription (Personal would be sufficient at this time from what I understand), does that come with an email address? I understand that WordPress uses third party Titan to power email? And what would the sending limit on number of emails per day be? I’m getting confused as to whether I would be better off signing up for the Google Workspace or just using the WordPress subscription. I need to be able to send up to 500 emails at a time to clients with important updates relevant to them. Gmail no longer does this, so I need something easy to use, and it does make a lot of sense if it’s tied into the website already. I saw you have an email forwarding option: would this work for my purposes and stay within sending limits? Hope you can give me some direction!

Hello there,
Many thanks for reaching out.
Email would be a separate purchase to a domain and a personal plan. We have recently teamed up with Titan to provide email.
Please see all email stipulations with Titan email here: https://wordpress.com/support/add-email/adding-email-powered-by-titan-to-your-site/

This is quite extensive – is this via a mailing list?
If yes, you may wish to use a service like Mailchimp.

Email forward is different to email hosting – I don’t think this will be of interest based on the requirements. There’s more on this here: https://wordpress.com/support/add-email/email-forwarding/
I hope this helps so far.

That is helpful, thanks. My cousin said the same thing about Mailchimp, so I will try that.
