Can I install social plugins?

  I would like the ability to upload plugins (such as a the Facebook “Like” button) on my blog. Is there a way to upgrade my wordpress.com account to allow this or is it only available through wordpress.org?

  Thanks for letting us know that you are interested. While we don’t currently support the Facebook Like button, we do offer an awesome WordPress.com like option for your readers. You can also enable your sharing settings to let your readers share your posts on Facebook.

  Plugins are only available with a self-hosted installation of WordPress.org. Please check out our support documentation for more information about plugins and the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org.

  If you require plugins, you might be interested in using the self-hosted version.
  We have hosting recommendations here.

  Thanks so much. I think I’ll just stick to what I have since the Facebook plugin is the only one I would implement at this time. I don’t think my lil ole blog is ready for self-hosting.
