  #1. I want to upgrade to Aurora Borealis and keep my current address as genesisoracles.org, and without any “wordpress.com” ties to my address. Possible? #2. Upgrading —does that mean all posts and pictures have to be transferred individually to the new theme? #3. Can I have a static post that remains at the top? I.E. a picture and post about my organization to be first and always being at the top for visitors? #4 From what I see, my investment is $75 for the theme, $99 for service one year. Is there any other goodies not included that are extra, that you recommend? I know these are several questions, but I sincerely do appreciate your fast service. FYI. I’m an old frog of 70 years old and not real tech savvy.

  Sure! Changing the theme has no affect on your custom domain name. Your site will still be found at genesisoracles.org (just with the new theme). Please note that the address with .wordpress.com at the end of it never deletes, which is actually a good thing so if you one day decide not to renew the domain or it expires accidentally all your content will still be available at genesisoracles.wordpress.com.

  However, as long as you keep your domain renewed, your readers will see your site at genesisoracles.org. Even if they go to genesisoracles.wordpress.com they will be automatically redirected to genesisoracles.org.

  Just note that a domain name is like a mailing address. It’s just the address of where you content is found – it’s not where the content lies. You can actually point your domain to any site you want.

  All your posts and pictures will remain the same. The theme is more like a skin on top of all your content. While it does change the look of the site, your content such as pages, posts, media, will all remain there.

  #3. Can I have a static post that remains at the top? I.E. a picture and post about my organization to be first and always being at the top for visitors?

  Yes! You can do this by setting that post as a sticky post. Take a look at the link for specific instructions. But long story short, edit the post that you want to remain at the top and in the Publish module, edit the Visibility and check off: Stick this post to the front page.

  So really besides adding more space or domains, the other Business upgrades include eCommerce features and unlimited Premium Themes. If you plan on having a store and selling products on your site, then the Business package might be worth looking into:

  Also if you don’t plan on changing the look of your site often, I’d recommend sticking with the Aurora Borealis theme you want to purchase. We have a 30 day refund period on Premium Themes so if you find that the theme is not what you had planned, you can get a refund and try out a different one.
