Upgrading free site and changing website name to a domain name we own ending in .org
-
We want to upgrade our free website account to a paid premium account. We have a domain name registered with another company for an old website that we are closing out and want to use that url for the new upgraded account. It ends in .org and not .com. We don’t want to self-host. Is this possible and what do we need to do next?

Hi! No problem at all. If you’d like to map the domain to a site on our server, you can use these steps:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/First, choose a plan here:
https://wordpress.com/plansNext choose to map the domain: https://wordpress.com/domains
Then point your domain to these name servers:
ns1.wordpress.com
ns2.wordpress.com
ns3.wordpress.comIf you need to add other DNS settings before you do that, you can:
Does that help? If not, send more details and we’ll go from there.
