Upgrading my account to (.com) and using the free themes

  I am planning on making several changes/updates to my site one major change being my chosen theme

  If I was to make all my planned changes and then upgraded my free sure to a dot com domain,will I be able to use my chosen theme ( based in the free themes that word press provide)

  Premium themes and Custom Domains are unrelated. You can have one or the other or both. Purchase order does not make a difference.

  You should be fine. Let me know if you have any trouble.

  Those this still apply to free themes that are used.( I currentlyo only use a free theme)

  If I initially use a free theme then upgraded to a self host domain, would I still be able to use the same theme with out losing my theme and content

  Themes from WordPress.com do not transfer to self-hosted sites. However, the theme you are using, Sela, is available as a free WordPress theme:
