Upgrading my account with a different website name?

  I was wondering if I upgrade my account to a .com address….can I make it a different name than what my blog address is now? If so, how do I go about doing that when I upgrade? I don’t want anything on my website to change when I upgrade…just the address and name of my site. Thank you!!!

  Aloha ashleyjeanelle, You sure can do that! My free WordPress.com address is completely unrelated to the one I use for my actual domain. I see the original free address if I log in to the Dashboard, but the public never sees this.

  There are a couple ways of doing this depending on if you already own the domain or not.

  You can register a new domain if you don’t already have it:
  https://en.support.wordpress.com/register-domain/

  Map a domain you already own:
  https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/
