UPGRADING MY FREE BLOG TO PREMIUM

  I have a .wordpress.com blog with 37 entries and a few followers. It is wildflowergardener.wordpress.com.
  I would like to “go premium” with a wildflowergardener.com and also change themes. I have chosen HATCH as I set a cooking blog up (mymomlikestocook.com) with that theme and feel it will also work for my wildflower blog.
  If I go premium, can I keep my name and be simply “wildflowergardner.com” and will my followers be re-directed to the new “.com” site? Please let me know THANKS!!

  If you register a new .com custom domain and map it to your existing WordPress.com site at wildflowergardener.wordpress.com, visitors to both your WordPress.com address and the new .com domain will automatically be redirected to the new .com address. However, they will be seeing the site that exists at wildflowergardener.wordpress.com.

  In other words, you will keep the same wildflowergardener.wordpress.com blog and can make any changes to it that you wish. You can still log in at http://wildflowergardener.wordpress.com/wp-admin/ as well. However, your visitors won’t realize that that’s the underlying address.
