Upgrading my site: will my followers know?

    I’m going to need to upgrade my site soon. I don’t have many followers, but I want those that are following me to be able to find me once my domain name changes. Will they still get email updates when I publish a new post? Or do I have to notify them that my domain name is changed.

    This isn’ Happening tomorrow, but when I’m ready to upgrade, I want all the info so I know exactly what I need to do to maintain a connection with my current followers.

    Hi there,

    Upgrading your site won’t affect your followers in any way. From their perspective all that will change is the domain appearing in their browser address bar, and they might not even notice that if they’re not paying attention.

    Additionally, the free address will still work as well, so anyone who has that bookmarked will still be able to use it to get to your site.

    The information you provided only applies if you want to migrate followers to a completely different site. Upgrading and adding a domain to a site make changes to an existing site, and nothing needs to be migrated in that case.
