Upgrading PHP

  • Unknown's avatar

My website is currently running on PHP 5.4.45. I need to upgrade to at least 5.6 since some plugins aren’t working correctly, but I can’t find a way to do it from the dashboard. The option just doesn’t appear. Any tip as for how to approach this?

Hello! Is the blog link above the site you are asking about? Or do you have a different website?

If you’re not sure whether your site lives on WordPress.com or WordPress.org, read more here.

If your site is running here on WordPress.com, PHP version is outside your control (and generally unnecessary to worry about), as it’s all one big WordPress multisite.

If you’re on a self-hosted server, which I feel is more likely, you’ll have to contact your hosting provider to see if the version of PHP on your server can be upgraded (some hosts will/can do it, others can’t/won’t).

If you are on a self-hosted WordPress.org install, you’ll find the support forums for that type of site here.

    Hope this helps!
