    Hey sunburnsports,

With a Business Plan, you get unlimited storage. And even if your website starts getting more readers than you expect, it can handle them properly.

And if you want more resources then you can upgrade to WordPress VIP which is a managed hosting platform for bigger WordPress.com websites.

The rest a staff member can confirm the real scenario of what you have in your mind.

  • Hi there,

Do you perhaps mean if you start with a Personal Plan? Then yes, you can upgrade from Personal to Premium at any time, and as long as the Personal plan is not too close to expiry, you’ll only pay the difference in cost between the plans.

However, if you make sure to optimise your images before adding them to your site even the 3GB free storage could last you years before you’ll need to upgrade specifically for more space:

And if you want more resources then you can upgrade to WordPress VIP which is a managed hosting platform for bigger WordPress.com websites.

WordPress.com VIP is something completely different from WordPress.com, and there’s no way to upgrade a regular WordPress.com site to a VIP site. VIP sites also cost upwards of $5000 a month – I wouldn’t describe that as an upgrade from the $300 a year Business Plan.
