Upgrading platforms from old WordPress templates to new.

    Is it possible to upgrade to a new WordPress user template from an older version from many years back? If so, are there issues that can result or will certain information and formatting be modified and is it repairable?

    Hi there!

    Sure, thing, you can change to a new theme and, to get the best of it, use the new Block Editor:

    https://wordpress.com/support/editor-wordpress/

    If your theme has been already retired, you won’t be able to get back to it, but it also won’t affect your content in any way. The new themes may replace your homepage with a demo page but, if you do not wish to use it, you can go to My Site>Design>Customize>Homepage Settings and set back the page you were using before.

    You may also want to update your pages so bear in mind that it may require some work on your part to get the look you want.
