upgrading to a personal domain

    Hello, I am thinking about upgrading my wordpress site to a paid domain. At the moment I’m using the free one and have distributed that address in several places. If I change my domain, will customers be automatically re-directed to the new domain when they use the old link (of a free blog)? Or, does upgrading my domain mean I lose the old connections? Thank you.
