Upgrading to ad-free

  • Unknown's avatar

I’m trying to activate the £20 ad-free upgrade but the “get rid of ads” link goes straight to upgrades for “premium” or “business” only. No sign of £20 option.

How do I go about buying the £20 ad-free upgrade? Is it still available?

My blog is set to private for the time being, but that doesn’t seem to be the problem.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’m sorry but only username accounts registered before September 1st, 2015 can purchase the No-Ads upgrade as an individual upgrade. Your account was registered on September 30, 2014 (3 weeks ago) so to get that upgrade you have to purchase either the Premium bundle or upgrades or the Business upgrade bundle.

YIKES! I posted the wrong year. I meant to type September 1st, 2014. Sorry.

    Thanks for your reply. :)

Seriously?? Why does the ‘adcontrol’ link in my dashboard lead to this page if it’s no longer available?

I realise this probably isn’t your doing, I’m just wondering out loud. I can’t recall seeing anything about not being able to buy the £20 upgrade when I registered; have I over-looked something?

I’m so sorry for the confusion. That link to the standalone upgrade page will be removed by Staff as I have tagged this thread for that to happen.

That’s all very well, but the ‘adcontrol’ link in my dashboard and the store page is mis-leading!

My blog is in its infancy and I don’t know if I will get to the stage where I will need all the extras afforded by the other upgrades. However, an ad-free blog is very desirable and I am happy to pay £20 for that to happen.

Since the information is mis-leading, I think it would be good if WordPress granted the £20 ad-free upgrade to those wishing to purchase it and then set another date for the upgrade to end.

    Not happy about this.

I’m sorry that standalone page link has yet to be removed. I’m sorry you are not happy. Staff are certainly not going to revert the policy and chnage the date to suit you. The bottom line here is that what I posted is correct and it’s up to you to accept that.

I am trying to import a plug in from another site how do i do that???

    @premier712
That has absolutely no connection in any way shape of form to the content in this thread. Posting off-topic is called thread jacking. It’s disrespectful and it means that the original person who posted that thread gets garbage like this in their email, rather than the help they expect and need. Hi there,

I’m sorry for the confusion about that link in your dashboard. Our team is working on improvements to the dashboard to help make this transition clearer — I’ll make sure they’re aware that the link you mentioned is still there so they can take a look at that.

Thanks. It’s not just me that’s affected though, is it? Whilst what you say might be correct, it doesn’t change the fact that the information in the dashboard and store about the No Ads upgrade is mis-leading.

    Peace.

Thank you. There are, so far, no changes to my dashboard and the store info about the No Ads upgrade option.

Indeed and when Staff work their way to that standalone page link they will remove it. In the meanwhile you don’t need to keep posting your unhappiness under the peace label. You already have your answer and continuing to post here is a waste of your time that makes you appear to be a crank.
