Upgrading to business plan
-
Hello everybody!
We currently have premium plan but are considering upgrading to business plan.
For £100+ I was interested in finding out what you think the best benefits are with it. I know there is a list of what you get under each plan but id like to know in a bit more detail as well as asking some of you personally. At the moment we have an EBook that we would like to sell, hence why we want to upgrade, however we arent sure why else we would want it.
We just want to get it right before we pay a lot of money!
Thanks in advance.

Hello,
There are a number of features that come with the WordPress.com Business Plan. You can have a detailed look at the comparison here on this WordPress.com pricing page. https://wordpress.com/pricing/
Key takeaways though:
– WordPress.com Business plan offers the ability to edit templates as available on WordPress.com Premium plan.
– WordPress.com Business plan allows installation of custom themes and plugins. (gives more flexibility as that of self-hosted WordPress) (related: learn about the differences between a self-hosted WordPress site and a WordPress.com site https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/)
– WordPress.com Business plan gives the ability to integrate Google Analytics for detailed tracking. These should get you through deciding on whether you should pick the WordPress.com Business plan or not.
I hope this helps. Feel free to get back if you have questions.

Hi there,
For selling your e-book you have a few options:
1. You can use a third-party service – there are many websites that serve as e-book marketplaces where you can put up your book and people can buy it from there. Then you just link to your book on that marketplace from your site.
2. Your Premium Plan gives you access to the Simple Payments button. This button allows you to add a single product per button to your page, allowing people to send you payment for that button to a connected PayPal account. Combine that with an order form and you have a simple, if manual, way to sell your e-book directly on your site.
3. You can set up a fully-integrated online store. Here people can add your book to a shopping cart, pay, and automatically get a download link once they pay to download your book. This will require an ecommerce plugin like WooCommerce, and that’s only possible on the Business Plan.
Unless you have very high volume sales for your ebook, or need any of the other features of the Business Plan, that might just cost more than the actual profits you make from sales so might not be worth it.
As to the benefits of the Business Plan, you can see all the features included in Business if you go to My Site ->Plans, but it depends completely on your needs whether those features will have value to you or not. I’m happy to answer any questions about specific features you have, though.
And as you already have a Premium Plan you’re also welcome to connect with us over Live Chat and ask your questions there:
