Upgrading to Business Plan

  • Unknown's avatar

I am thinking of upgrading from my Premium Plan to a Business Plan so that I can install a particular plugin – Easy Code Manager – that will allow me to use JavaScript and PHP in my WordPress posts, something that I have wanted to do for ages.

I have two questions that I need answered before I commit financially to upgrading:

1.) Do I have to pay for plugins on a Business Plan? I would like the Premium version of Easy Code Manager, so that I don’t miss out on any features and functionality of the plugin.

2.) I have been studying PHP for several months and know how to send emails directly from a script. In my case I would be using this functionality to send people detailed email feedback from the quizzes I intend to create – how many questions were answered correctly, how long they spent on the quiz, areas of strength and weakness etc. PHP requires an “installed and working email system” (per w3schools.com), so does WordPress.com provide this email system?

Thanks in advance for your help,

    Chris Larham

  • Hi There,

    1. WordPress.com will charge you for the business plan only. If you want to use a paid version of any plugin you would want to purchase it directly from the plugin developers.

    2. I would tag this thread with modlook for the attention of the support staff to provide you an answer for this.

On a side note, being a premium plan customer, you can get in touch with WordPress.com team from https://wordpress.com/help/contact page over live chat.

  • Hi Chris –

    For the email question:

When a visitor submits something through your site, the return email would be from your site as well. Does that make sense?

There are other plugins that give you so many free emails per month, but you shouldn’t need one of those.

Please reach us at live chat support so we can help you more efficiently.

    Thanks!

Thanks to both of you for the answers above. I have submitted an email at ‘live chat support’ to confirm the PHP syntax and will use that facility in the future for any other queries :)
