Upgrading to business plan

I am considering upgrading from free to business. My main two fears are: 1. I will lose my place on google searches which at times can be in the top ten results. 2. With the excising of wordpress from the url I am concerned that old links will not direct to the new url.
    Hope the above makes sense.

    Hi kitsullivan,

I will tag this as modlook so a staff member will look into the possibility of upgrade while addressing your concerns.

    Hi kitsullivan,

    1. I will lose my place on google searches which at times can be in the top ten results.

Upgrading to the Business plan won’t have a negative effect on your SEO. The good news is it includes some advanced SEO tools which aren’t available on our other plans:

    2. With the excising of wordpress from the url I am concerned that old links will not direct to the new url.

The custom domain you register can be set as primary domain for your site:

    Domains

This means your free WordPress.com address (example.wordpress.com) will automatically redirect to the custom domain — and this is what visitors will see in their browser’s address bar. The same applies to any instances of your free address in search results.

I hope this helps but please let me know if you have any questions.
