Upgrading to Business Plan and transferring my exisiting domain.

    Hi WP –

    I’d like to upgrade to the Business Plan and also transfer my domain http://www.vinnyyoga.com to WordPress in the process. However, my domain is currently registered with Netregistry and hosted on Siteground. As I currently have a landing page live on my domain, I don’t want to lose it. Can you advise how I am to transfer the landing page as well? Or will I have to start from scratch once my domain is transferred to WordPress?

    Hi Andie,

    What I’d recommend in this case is to create the WordPress.com site you want to use and buy the Business Plan. Then create a subdomain on your vinnyyoga.com domain, like temp.vinnyyoga.com, and connect that to the site for now. That will allow you to install plugins and start setting up your site.

    Once you have the landing page plugin installed and set up like the one you currently have, you can then contact live chat support where we can help you switch the temporary subdomain with the actual domain and get the transfer-in started.

    We might also be able to help you use a plugin like WP-All-In-One-Migration to migrate your existing site over to us all at once, but you will need to have the Business Plan active and a domain connected to the site already before we can do that. It’s also best if you contact live chat support for help with the process so we can make sure the migration goes smoothly.
