upgrading to own domain name

  I set up a ‘test’ website for my religious org, using your free wordpress.com plan. I want to upgrade to a proprietary domain name: ie, I would like to change the site name and drop the ‘wordpress’ name from the url. How is this done, and what will it cost us (minimum, please).
