Upgrading to Personal Plan
-
Hi! I’m considering upgrading to the personal plan and I have two questions: (1) With the offer for a domain name, can I keep my current content, posts, etc. and just change the name of my blog? (2) Before using WordPress, I used Blogspot (through Google). With this personal plan, is there an easy way that I could transfer my posts from my old blog to my new WordPress site? Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
When you buy a domain your content isn’t affected in any way. Think of it as putting a dust jacket on a book. From the outside the book looks different, but the inside stays exactly the same.
Same thing with domains. A custom domain only changes what domain shows in the browser if someone views your site, but your content, followers, etc. stays exactly as it is.
You can transfer content from Blogspot to WordPress.com without needing a plan. You will need to export your content from Blogspot as an .XML file. Please see their support documents for instructions how to do this. Then you can import that file to your site by going to My Site ->Settings ->Import ->Other importers and pick the right one for the service you’re importing from.
