  I am wondering how it works if you switch from the free to the premium option in terms of your website URL and the existing content. Since the URL changes, does it automatically change for your existing followers (i.e. they will still be subscribed and still see your site in ‘Reader’) and does all your existing content automatically ‘transfer’ to the new site? Thanks in advance!

  Yes, nothing changes. Your followers will automatically be directed to the right place and any traffic to your _______.wordpress.com URL will be redirected to your new custom domain.
