upgrading to premium

    Hello there, I am building a website for a company and so I have created my own account so I can better revamp their site until completely ready. I am wondering, I would like to upgrade my account for only a short period of time and I understand that upgrading my account has monthly fees but is purchased as a lump sum… I am wondering, if I were to upgrade and only use my upgrade for a few months… would I be refunded the rest of the sum that I have not used for the year* or is there a way to upgrade my account for a specified time period?

    Hi there,

    WordPress.com upgrades are purchased per site, not per account, and are for a year at a time. We offer a full refund for 30 days after purchase, but we don’t offer pro-rated refunds if you cancel later than that.

    If you are creating a site for someone else, I’d recommend they create the free site and purchase the upgrade via their account, and then add you as an admin on the site so you can put the site together for them. Alternatively, you can set up the site, with the necessary upgrades, and then transfer the lot to the owner once you’re done, and sort the payment out directly with them.

    The first option is the simpler one, but it’s up to you.

    They currently already have a site with a lot of content. We are revamping it completely and finding it to be very confusing to revamp their site on their end so I’m going about it on my end with an alternate acct instead.

    I am wanting to switch up the themes and whatnot and I cannot do that on their end fully because they’d like to see how that theme might look first before rearranging their entire site.

    I wish this could be done on a monthly basis as the payment plans say $$$ per month… it sucks it cannot actually be done that way.. pay for one month or 6 or whichever…. maybe one day???

    It is possible we might implement monthly payments in future, but it’s not possible right now and I cannot tell you when it might be.

    How much time would you say you’d need to get the site set up on your end?
